My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Stelle Blue 🌙🎶
I’m a long-haired black cat with very soft fur, very sweet intentions, and strong “stay awhile” energy. I love being pet — like, truly love it. If you start, I’ll melt into your hand and purr like we’ve known each other since the ’70s. I’m not pushy about it, I just make it very clear that the vibe is right and we should keep going.

I’m calm, affectionate, and happiest when things are easy. I like slow moments, warm laps, and hanging close while life happens around me. Think less chaos, more Ripple playing in the background. I’m not here to steal your face — I’m here to steal your heart, softly, and then fall asleep next to you.

If you’re looking for a cat who loves deeply, lives gently, and makes everything feel a little more peaceful, I think we might be on the same wavelength. 🖤🐾✨An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.
Cats and kittens are a donation of choice.

More about this shelter

At DeKalb Humane Society, we are passionate about finding forever homes for the pets in our care. Whether they are cats, dogs, or other furry friends, our mission is to provide them with a loving and nurturing environment.

We also believe in the importance of education about responsible pet ownership. We strive to educate our community about pet welfare, the benefits of spaying/neutering, and the prevention of animal abuse and neglect.

By adopting a pet from us, you are not only gaining a lifetime companion, but you are also contributing to our cause and helping us raise awareness. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these innocent animals.

The DeKalb Humane Society filed for our Certificate of Incorporation on December 23, 1975 and we were granted 501(c)3 status in March of 1976. We are committed to being a no-kill shelter and serving the DeKalb County area.
