My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bellatrix! ✨🐾
Bellatrix is a stunning 2-year-old terrier mix with the cutest face markings that make her impossible to forget. Weighing about 47 pounds, she’s a perfect medium-sized girl with a friendly, happy personality and a heart full of love to give. Bellatrix enjoys people and greets the world with a wagging tail and a sweet, affectionate nature.

This brave girl is currently heartworm positive, but don’t let that deter you—she’s on the road to recovery and will just need a committed adopter willing to follow through with her treatment and provide a calm, supportive environment while she heals. With proper care, she can go on to live a long, happy, healthy life. ❤️

Bellatrix is looking for a forever home that will see past her temporary medical needs and focus on the amazing companion she is: loving, friendly, and full of charm. She’s ready to find a family who will stand by her, spoil her, and fall in love with those adorable face markings every single day. 🐶

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
