My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Toes and Smokey, a bonded pair of brothers who are ready to ride into their next chapter together. Right now, they are feeling a bit shy as they settle in at the shelter, the “we’re still getting our bearings” type. But here is the thing: in their foster home, they were the sweetest duo, affectionate, playful, and clearly happiest when they had each other close by.

Toes is the curious sidekick, the one who wants to investigate what you are doing once he feels safe, like he is proudly on patrol. Smokey is the showstopper, with a striking black-on-black coat that looks like velvet in the right light and a face so handsome it should come with a warning label. Give them a little time, a calm home, and a cozy routine, and you will start to see that foster-home sweetness shine through again.

Together, they are the perfect two-cat team: double the companionship, double the entertainment, and a built-in best friend for each other every single day. They are seeking a home that understands the magic of a bonded pair and will keep them together, because these brothers are not just related, they are a package deal in the best way.

If you have room for two, Toes and Smokey are ready to move in, take a deep breath, and turn that first shy hello into a forever ranch.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1868, The SF SPCA is a community-supported nonprofit dedicated to saving, protecting and caring for cats and dogs. We do this through immediate care of animals that are homeless, ill or in need of an advocate, but we also work to educate the community, reduce the number of unwanted kittens and puppies through spaying/neutering, and improve the quality of life for animals and their companions.
