My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Currently fostered in: Brooklyn Park, MD

💙 Meet Fred 💙

SOCIAL LIFE
This five month old boys tail NEVER stops wagging- he is the definition of "wiggle butt"! Fred is the total package in a puppy- mischief, charm, and tons of snuggles!

Being a happy pup who gets along with EVERYONE- Fred's never met another animal he didn't like. He adores getting hugs and pets from humans, and is the first one to greet and play with other pups. Exploring the world is always at the top of his list but he makes sure to sneak in some snuggles on his adventures!

ENERGY AND PERSONALITY
Fred is joyous, bouncy, and always up for an adventure. He can have alot of puppy energy at times but settles fast! When the crate door shuts and lights go out this guy knows it's time to rest so he can lead the charge on playtime in the morning! Fred brings a warm shining energy to his home and helps lift spirits just with the flash of his goofy puppy smile.

SPECIAL TRAITS
A bright, happy-go-lucky spark is something Fred brings whereever he goes. He knows how to start a party and keep it going. New things can make him retreat at first, but he just needs a few seconds before he shows you how brave he is!

TRAINING AND BEHAVIOR
Fred is working on potty training and basic commands like sit (although the world is so exciting right now he finds it VERY hard to stay still for long). His goofy antics are so hilarious, it's hard not to smile!

BEST HOME FIT
As Fred is still a puppy, patient and present adopters will help him thrive while he grows and learns. While he doesn't need a dog sibling, he would really love one! Although, we think he would be just as happy with a playful cat sibling. He can fit in a wide range of supportive and fun-loving environments with adopters who are ready to jump into puppy life.

VETERINARY CARE
Fred is up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, neutered, microchipped, and receiving heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives along with routine parasite treatments.

If you’re looking for a goofy sidekick who doubles as a snuggle blanket, this little guy is ready to wiggle straight into your heart.

MEET AND GREETS

We primarily rely on meet & greets for potential adopters. Approved adopters may meet adoptable animals at the home of the animal's foster, or possibly in the adopter's own home.

More about this rescue

Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. rescues dogs of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters reducing the numbers being euthanized daily. We provide foster homes where they can get the love and attention needed before finding their forever homes. Our organization provides pet adoption services in Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, and parts of Southern Pennsylvania. Operation Paws for Homes, a 501(c)(3) organization, is 100% donor funded and could not save these dogs and fulfill their dreams of being united with their forever families, without the dedication of our incredible adopters, fosters, donors and volunteers. Sadly, without our help, all of these adoptable animals would face almost certain euthanasia - usually within days or hours of arriving at the shelter. Each year we take in hundreds of wonderful animals who were left at shelters by no fault of their own.
