My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cocoa 🤎 (yes, he’s a boy!)—a gentle soul with a heart full of love.

Cocoa was dumped alongside his brother, Fudge, at just 4 months old at a rural pound with very few visitors and no staff to spend time helping them grow and feel safe. Because of that rough start, it’s completely understandable that Cocoa is shy and needs a little extra time to warm up to new people and situations. Once he does, you’ll see that he’s all love and sweetness.

Cocoa finds his comfort and confidence in other dogs, and they help him feel safe as he figures out the world. He would do best in a home with a confident, friendly older dog who can show him the ropes—how to “dog,” how to trust, and how to relax. With patience, kindness, and a canine role model by his side, Cocoa is sure to blossom into a loyal and loving companion.
