If you’re a fan of jaw-dropping blue coats and gentle souls, Sal is about to steal your heart. This gorgeous blue Australian Greyhound absolutely glows—his silvery-blue coloring turns heads everywhere he goes, and his sweet expression seals the deal.
Sal is a soft, affectionate boy who’s really starting to come out of his shell. He prefers a calm, quieter home, where he can relax, bond deeply with his people, and show off his tender personality. Once he feels comfortable, his charm shines through—especially when it’s time for a walk. Put the leash on and watch him do the cutest little happy hops like he knows an adventure is coming!
He’s been a star in foster care:
✨ Sleeps through the night
✨ Eats well and is very food-motivated (human food is extremely interesting, according to Sal 😉)
✨ Did great on his car ride
✨ Smart and eager—treats will absolutely help him learn a few basic commands
Sal is all about people and loves being close, whether that’s leaning in for affection or stretching out nearby for a cozy nap. He’s also expected to spend time with another greyhound soon, and all signs point to him being just as lovely with canine company.

Gold Coast Greyhound Adoptions, Gulf Coast Chapter is a 501(c) (3) non-profit all volunteer organization that is dedicated to the placement of retired racing greyhounds into qualified, caring and loving homes since 2003. It is our mission to educate the public regarding the gentle nature and wonderful temperament of the greyhound breed.
With the closing of the Florida race tracks in 2020, the number of local greyhounds needing placement in loving homes has been significantly reduced. While we are still doing everything we can to help retired racers from other states and countries, we are excited to announce that we are expanding our mission to now work with other sighthounds and closely related sighthound breeds!
