Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Carmelia, a beautiful senior lady of 8½ years with a gentle soul and a quiet grace 💖
Carmelia is the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention—she earns it with a soft presence and that unmistakable sparkle in her eyes.
She’s calm, sweet, and dignified, the type who’s content to sit nearby, soaking in the world and the people she loves. There’s something very special about her—an unspoken warmth that draws you in once you take a moment to notice.
She’s patiently waiting for someone to see her not just for her age, but for her heart. Someone who understands that seniors love deeply, appreciate softly, and make the most devoted companions. Carmelia is ready to give her love and loyalty to the person who chooses her—and she’ll be endlessly grateful for a place to finally call home.
If you’re looking for a quiet, loving companion with wisdom in her eyes and love to give, Carmelia is waiting… and hoping you’re the one. 🐾✨

More about this rescue
Passion for Pets Rescue (PPR) is a non-profit (501c3), insured and state licensed rescue, run by volunteers. We are a small group of like-minded folks with big hearts. PPR does not have an actual shelter, all of our dogs are either in foster homes in Maine or with our Southern partners in Mississippi.
PPR covers all medical expenses. The majority of the dogs we rescue require immediate veterinary care. Skin infections and internal parasites are common occurrences. We pay for all spay & neuter surgeries. PPR makes sure all dogs are given age appropriate vaccinations, as well as, preventative medication for Heartworm and external parasites. Please contact us if you would like to help foster, transport, fundraise or volunteer.
