Church lived in a cemetery for four months before being rescued. He will be a great cuddle companion if you're afraid of the dark!
Church is a one- to two-year old, 13 pound, Shih Tzu. He loves toys run around and will tear after tennis balls that you think would be too big to fit in his tiny mouth. He will do great in an active household as he needs his run time. He has puppy energy, loves toys, and is very playful. He is very friendly with dogs, people, kids. He will bark at passerby's in public, buts it's an excited, little bark, with tail wagging. Potty trained. He is an easy dog.
Church has made the journey from San Antonio, Texas to Colorado and is being fostered in Denver, available to meet!
***Church is being posted on behalf of our partner rescue in Texas- the process and adoption will go through them. The adoption fee does not include the transport fee of $200.***
Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa.
Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio.

Submit foster application if you only wish to foster, and an adoption application if you wish to adopt or foster with the intent of adoption

After your app is submitted, we will reach out to have a conversation and schedule a time for you to meet the pet
Approve Application
If you decide to move forward after the meet and greet we will officially approve your application
Take the Pet Home
After your app is approved, we will complete foster or adoption paperwork and you will take the pet home
