Meet Envy.
A misunderstood kitty with a story written between the quiet spaces.
Envy is the kind of cat the world too often turns away from. The kind some shelters are forced to euthanize simply because she does not seek out human hands. Envy does not hate people. Life has just taught her that distance feels safer. When she sees a human, her instinct is to go the other way. That instinct likely kept her alive.
Where did Envy come from?
Was she born outside?
Was she once a free kitten, scooped up with good intentions and later discarded when the cost of care felt too heavy?
We will never know.
What we do know is this: Envy deserves to live.
Saved by Zade does not remove feral cat colonies. But sometimes a cat comes into our care who cannot go back to where they came from. They cannot be adopted into a traditional home. They cannot stay with us forever without taking up space another cat desperately needs.
That does not make them disposable.
Envy came to us after a community member found her in their shed, quietly raising six tiny kittens. She was a devoted mother. Every single one of her babies survived. Every one of them was adopted into a loving home.
Now it is Envy’s turn.
She is spayed. She is vaccinated. She is healthy. And she deserves a full, safe outdoor life if that is the life she chooses. A barn. A workshop. A property with shelter, food, and respect for who she is. Not a pet. A neighbor.
Cats like Envy exist in every rescue. They do not fit neatly into the adoption path. They do not curl up on laps or pose for photos. But they matter just as much.
If you have a barn or appropriate outdoor shelter and are willing to give a quiet cat like Envy a place to belong, please email us.

Because a happily ever after does not look the same for every cat.
And Envy deserves hers.
