My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Antar is in the process of getting adopted! **

If you`re looking for a new best friend that will stick to you like glue, look no further than Antar! This sweet, handsome boy loves nothing more than to supervise what you are doing and be a part of the team. In fact, Antar is such a people person that he won`t even play with his toys unless you`re there to play with him! He also has impeccable scratching post manners (as long as there is a proper post to scratch!) and has happily lived with children previously! The only thing that is uncertain with Antar is how successfully he would live with other animals, so be sure to do slow introductions to any resident pets in the home. Come meet Antar today and be prepared to fall in love with this lovely boy!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
