Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Hazel.
Hazel is a true survivor. She was found living near a mine in the remote hills of Patagonia in southern Arizona, where mine workers looked out for her and made sure she had food. Eventually, animal control was able to bring her to safety, and she has spent the last month patiently waiting for a rescue or a family to call her own.
Hazel has a few scars from her past and is missing part of an ear, which only adds to her unique character. She is gentle and loving, though a bit timid at first. Once she gets to know you, her tail starts wagging and she lights up with excitement when she sees you. Hazel is incredibly loyal and can often be found following the volunteers around the play yard, always wanting to stay close.
She seems to bond deeply with her people, and whoever adopts Hazel will gain a devoted, one-of-a-kind companion. With her wrinkled forehead, coat, and coloring, we suspect she may have a little Boxer in her. Hazel is ready to leave her hard past behind and give her whole heart to the family who gives her a chance.
Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not adopt or ship outside the state of Arizona. To ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard.
If you have any questions or to adopt a dog an application must submitted. Filling out this form does not obligate you to adopt, but gives us the information needed to make sure the pet is suited to your home.
HOW TO APPLY: From Petfinder.com The fastest way to get to the adoptable dog page is to copy and then paste this link into your browser: https://unitedanimalfriends.org/adoptable-dogs/
When you are on the UAF website Select "Adoptable Dogs" and pick the dog you are interested in. To apply to adopt, go into the dog's profile, and click the gray "Apply for Adoption" button to get started.
You could be a life saver!
