Some heroes wear capes, some grow wings after they heal.
Meet Dragon Fly, a gentle soul with a survivor’s heart. Dragon Fly was found on the streets with a broken leg, she was searching for food, safety, and a little kindness. Life didn’t start gently for her, and because of that she’s shy at first and slow to trust. But give her patience and a soft voice, and you’ll unlock the best secret ever. Once Dragon Fly chooses you, she is all in. Hugs, pats, quiet loyalty, and a shadow that follows you from room to room like it’s her favorite job.
She’s truly the perfect little lady, polite, calm, and thoughtful. But don’t be fooled by her dainty manners. Once she feels safe, Dragon Fly blossoms into your go-to gal for everything from peaceful hikes to championship-level couch lounging. Her previously broken leg never dimmed her spirit, and now that she’s fully healed, she runs like a champ and enjoys playtime in a fenced yard.
Dragon Fly lives harmoniously with six dogs and has shown zero aggression. She tends to respectfully ignore the bigger dogs and saves her playful energy for her bestie. She would love a doggy companion, especially one around her size, but she’d also be perfectly content as your one and only.
Since moving to her new foster in New England we have noticed she LOVES to be with her people and she needs a home with another playful dog (this is a must) to show her the way and make her comfortable. She is only about 28 pounds and a bit underweight but with the proper meals she been getting we feel she will be a bit heavier soon.

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
