Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**PLEASE BE SURE YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT WHEN REQUESTING AN APPLICATION!!**
1-17-26: "Are you looking for the sweetest Chihuahua Feist mix around? Well, look no further, here I am! My name is RUBY, and I am happy to meet you! I have come to this great rescue with 2 of my "sisters" after our owner was no longer able to care for us. We ended up at the local Shelter, and boy, was that scary for us little girls! Mom saw us and wasted no time in helping us bust out of there! I am, as I mentioned earlier, a Chihuahua Feist mix, weighing in at 24 pounds, about 3 years old, house and crate trained, had all my vaccines, spayed along with micro chipped! The good news is I am heart worm negative! My leash manners are pretty good, just a little hesitant at times. Mom says I am loveable, sweet, just a little shy, learning my new life. I would love to meet you. I'm good with other dogs, but Mom does not know about Cats or children"
"Do I sound like a girl you'd like to add to your life, to be your constant companion for life? If yes, just email my Mom and she will send you an application right out or answer any questions you may have about me. FOR FASTEST RESPONSE, PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE NUMBER ON HERE, EMAIL, AS EMAILS ARE CONSTANTLY MONITORED!! My adoption fee is $250.00 to help cover my vetting"
"Till we meet"
Love,
RUBY

We ask all potential adopters to fill out an application for adoption which is sent to them as soon as an inquiry is received. The application is reviewed, and the applicant's vet reference is checked by phone. If the applicant does not have a good vet record, the application is denied. If the applicant is renting a home, we ask for his landlord's name and phone # and check to make certain the applicant is allowed to have a pet. If there are any concerns regarding the application, we bring them to the applicant's attention and ask for clarification. This is done before the applicant meets the pet. We then set up a meeting at a mutually convenient time and place. If the applicant wants the pet, we ask for a check made payable to CFAW at the time the applicant takes the pet. The adoption donation is held for 3-5 days during which the potential adopter can decide whether (or not) he wants to permanently adopt the pet. If he decides not to adopt and returns the pet to us, his check is returned at that time. There is also a Pet Adoption Contract which basically states that the adopter will take good care of the pet. This is signed by both parties.
