Baron is a handsome 2½-year-old sable German Shepherd with a heart as big as his ears. He currently weighs about 55 lbs and is underweight, but with regular meals and some TLC, he's sure to fill out nicely. Sadly, Baron was found wandering Mare Island with another emaciated small dog.
Even though he has no reason to be, this amazingly sweet boy is extremely friendly with people and seems to do well with other dogs. Baron loves being around his humans and soaks up attention-especially belly rubs, which are definitely one of his favorite things!
On leash, Baron can pull a bit, but it seems to come from excitement and curiosity rather than bad manners. He's eager to explore the world and would likely do great with a little leash training. Baron already knows "sit" and "down," showing he's a smart pup who's ready to keep learning.
While his house-training status is currently unknown, Baron does potty promptly when taken out for walks, which is a great sign. He also enjoys playing fetch and spending quality time with his people, whether that's active play or just hanging out together. With some time, TLC, and a little training, this boy will be the most wonderful loyal companion.
Baron is a Courtesy Post for the Human Society of the North Bay in Vallejo. If you're interested in opening your home and heart to Baron, please head over to their website at www.hsnb.org and fill out their dog adoption interest application. Please note that only the HSNB online application goes to HSNB so you must fill out the app with HSNB. Go and meet this sweet, special GSD and help the Humane Society give him a happily ever after.
