My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Scrimp!

Scrimp is an atypical orange boy who has at least four braincells at all times. He's the leader if anything chaotic occurs, like ambushing resident cat Pancake and stealing her breakfast, running into the basement during playtime, or jump scaring just about anyone.

Scrimp figured out how zippers work (which is why he no longer has playpen privileges) and the mechanisms on the crate doors (which is why they now have extra locks). Scrimp's foster mom often feels like the person standing in the middle of the motorcycle cage at the circus when it's kitten play time with Scrimp leading the pack. Scrimp is the fourth of the vampire litter, and would like everyone to know he's also named after a famous vampire... but The Book of Scrimp hasn't been written yet. Scrimp has never met a creature he didn't like, from big dogs he can climb, people (that he can also climb), or other cats (he is unsuccessful at climbing a cat, but he remains optimistic). Because of Scrimp's playful energy, he must go home with a buddy or to a home with a playful resident cat.

Scrimp is 5 months old. He is neutered, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. If you're looking for a chaos companion, consider adopting Scrimp today!

Their adoption process

1.

Submit Application

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.

2.

Approve Application

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

3.

Interview

We spend more time chatting with the adopters to specifically go over any questions from the application and details about the specific cat.

4.

Meet the Pet

Potential adopters have a meet and greet with the cat or kitten in the foster home.

5.

Sign Adoption Contract

At the meet and greet, if all goes well, the adoption contract can be signed, the fee can be paid, and the pet can go home!

6.

Pay Fee

7.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

More about this rescue

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.

Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
