Hermey is a very sweet Pit Bull who can be a bit timid at first and will need a patient adopter willing to go slow as he adjusts. He will benefit from continued training and gentle socialization with new people and dogs. Once comfortable, Hermey truly shines-he accepts all handling, loves pets, and enjoys playful moments, including running around and offering play bows. With time and patience, Hermey will be a loving and affectionate companion.

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
