Ronnie is a cautious and sensitive dog who finds the shelter environment extremely overwhelming. In his kennel he can be vocal, tense, and defensive toward unfamiliar people, which is his way of asking for space when he’s unsure. Once carefully leashed and taken to the yard, Ronnie chose to keep his distance but tolerated handling and equipment placement without escalation.Ronnie will need a patient, experienced adopter or foster who can give him time to decompress, build trust at his pace, and learn that people can be safe. A quieter environment and slow introductions will likely help Ronnie feel more comfortable and confident. With the right support and understanding, there’s room for growth beyond what he’s able to show here in the shelter.
