Name: Electra (Ellie)
Formerly Known As: Chew-Chee
Status: Available for Foster or Adoption
About Me
Electra — lovingly called Ellie — is a super sweet, playful girl who is already proving what an easy, lovable companion she’s going to be. Formerly known as Chew-Chee, Ellie was found as a stray and later placed on the euthanasia list due to space. Thankfully, she got her second chance and is now safe, cared for, and showing everyone just how special she is.
Personality
Ellie is affectionate, gentle, and playful in all the best ways. She enjoys engaging with her people, loves food (very food motivated!), and is eager to participate in whatever’s going on around her. She has a happy, curious nature and settles in quickly, especially when treats are involved.
Socialization
So far, Ellie has been doing wonderfully with both dogs and cats. Interactions are currently kept on leash while her skin is still healing, but she has shown appropriate, calm behavior and good social awareness. She’s polite, curious, and respectful — a great sign for continued positive introductions.
Training & Manners
Ellie appears to be house-trained and potty trained. She knows the command “sit” and responds well to positive reinforcement. While she isn’t thrilled about going into her crate at first, she will go in voluntarily when treats are offered, making crate time very manageable. With consistency, she’s expected to continue improving quickly.
Medical Notes
Ellie has demodex, which is the non-contagious form of mange and cannot be spread to other animals or people. Her skin is currently sensitive, so play and interactions are being managed appropriately while she heals. She will continue treatment and follow-up care under rescue guidance.
Ideal Home
Ellie would thrive in a home that can continue gentle structure, positive reinforcement, and provide love while her skin finishes healing. She would do well with respectful dogs, dog-savvy cats, and people who enjoy an affectionate, food-motivated companion.
Why Ellie?
Because she’s already showing that she’s the kind of dog who fits easily into home life — sweet, playful, social, and eager to please. Ellie is past surviving and ready to start living.
