My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

✨ Meet Naomi McGee — The Sweetest Little Girl Ready for Her Forever Home ✨

Naomi McGee is a 1–2 year old, 9 lb Chihuahua/Pomeranian mix with a joyful spirit and a heart full of love. You might remember her as the devoted mama of puppies Mac and Cheese — she raised them beautifully, watched them head off to their forever homes, and now it’s finally her turn to find a family of her own.

Naomi is incredibly social and loves everyone she meets. She’s an amazing road‑trip buddy, a fetch fanatic, and a toy‑playing machine. When she’s not zooming around with her favorite squeaky, she’s burrowing under the covers for snuggles. She’s the perfect blend of playful and cuddly.

Her Personality

  • Friendly with men, women, and older children
  • Great with small dogs
  • Cat‑approved
  • Not a fan of larger dogs
  • Sweet, affectionate, and endlessly charming

Her Medical Needs

Naomi has congenital Megaesophagus (ME) and has been evaluated by an internist at SAGE RWC.
The good news: she’s incredibly easy to care for.

  • Takes her two medications (Omeprazole + Sildenafil) like a champ
  • Eats in an upright position
  • Thrives with routine and a little extra mindfulness at mealtimes

An ideal home has experience with ME or is willing to learn — her foster family can guide you, and Naomi makes it easy.

Her Dream Home

Naomi would love a calm, loving home where she can be adored, included, and supported. She’s young, fun, and full of life — she just needs a family who can give her the simple accommodations she needs to stay healthy and happy.

Location

Naomi is in the SF Bay Area and ready to meet her forever family.

Grateful Dogs Rescue incurs substantial veterinary and other expenses in rescuing our dogs. In order to recoup some of these costs, we request a tax-deductible donation for each adoption. The suggested donation for NAOMI McGEE is $300.

If you are interested in adopting NAOMI McGEE , please complete our online adoption application at https://www.gratefuldogsrescue.org/adoption-process/ . One of our volunteers will get back to you. Adoptions are local, confined to the SF Bay Area.

Additional adoption info

The Grateful Dogs Rescue adoption procedure is designed to find a good match between the dog and adopter. Our goal is a happy foster to forever transition. The adoption procedure includes an application, interview, home check, and an adoption donation. The adoption donation helps to cover spay/neuter, shots and other medical care given before the dog is made available for adoption.

More about this rescue

Grateful Dogs Rescue was founded in 1990; its mission is to rescue dogs not made available for adoption at San Francisco Animal Care and Control, and other local shelters, through no fault of their own. Rather than letting these dogs be euthanized, Grateful Dogs saves as many as possible by fostering these dogs in a loving home until a forever loving home is found.

Grateful Dogs Rescue is always in need of new foster homes!  You can make a difference by fostering. The number of dogs we can save is dependent on having foster parents to care for them until they find their forever homes. All of our dogs are in foster care.
