My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Meet Maria — Your Once-in-a-Lifetime Heart Cat

Maria isn’t just a kitten — she’s a person in cat fur. Exceptionally sweet, loving, and emotionally connected, Maria is the kind of kitten who chooses her people and stays close. She curls up on your neck, comes when called, and makes every day feel softer just by being near.

Maria is playful and social, loves her toys, and actively seeks out companions. She’s wonderfully dog-friendly and sleeps next to dogs every night, happily sharing her space and affection. Raised in a loving foster home, she is confident, gentle, and deeply trusting. She loves to play with other kitties, chase her toys and play with anyone around who wants to play.

She is the perfect match for someone looking for a true companion — not just a pet, but a little soul who wants to be part of your life.

Maria is:

  • Incredibly affectionate and people-oriented

  • Dog-friendly

  • Playful, social, and responsive (comes when called)

  • Spayed, fully healthy, and SNAP test negative

Ideal Home

Maria would thrive in a home where affection is welcomed and companionship is valued. She would love a family, couple, or individual who wants a deeply bonded kitten and enjoys having a loving presence close by. Homes with friendly dogs or another social pet are a plus, but not required — what matters most is a heart ready to love her back.

If you’re searching for a kitten who will form a deep bond and be your constant little shadow, Maria may be the one you’ve been waiting for.

✨ Come meet Maria — your heart will know. ✨

Call Dex Dexter at 850-766-2615 to set up a meet and greet. Be sure to fill out the dexterskitties.org adoption application before setting up the meet and greet. She is spayed, has all her shots, and a microchip. Has a negative SNAP test. Adoption fee is $125.00

More about this rescue

Welcome to Dexter's Kitties! It is our mission to end the suffering and euthanasia of homeless cats by rescuing, spaying and neutering, and helping to find every adoptable cat a loving, permanent home.

Dexter’s Kitties, Inc. was formed by a small group of passionate animal lovers in the Lake Nona area who realized we are Stronger Together.

Support community Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) of feral cats by providing coaching, traps, and financial assistance to neighborhood volunteers

Recruit and support foster families to help domesticate adoptable cats by providing coaching, emotional support, and financial assistance for feline medical services

Find permanent homes for adoptable rescue cats

Support community volunteers in the care of cat colonies
