My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hugo! Hugo is a big loveable teddy bear of a kitty. Hugo was found as a stray and needed surgery on his left eye as his eye lashes were curled into his eye. He feels so much better now and is ready to find a loving home. Hugo has a very chill, laid-back vibe and appreciates people with the same. Hugo loves the creature comforts of a loving home, give him a soft blankey and he will purr and make lots and lots of biscuits and he is a sucker for cheek rubs.

Hugo can get overstimulated with petting so it's important to read his body language and give him a break when he needs it. A cat savvy adopter without young kids would be best for this boy. If you are looking for a chill kitty to hang out with and watch movie, Hugo's your guy, so make room on the couch for him and enjoy!January 31, 2026, 4:18 pm

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
