History: Daffy needed a second chance at a good life and arrived to rescue with the help of Lightshine Rescue whose efforts are focused on a rural reservation in South Dakota where resources are low.
A Note from the Foster: Daffy is an inquisitive, smart, playful, and loving girl with the softest black fur, gorgeous coloring, and adorable floppy ears. She squeaks and squeals with love noises when she’s excited to see you, sleeps through the night without a peep, adores everyone she meets, and is clearly grateful to have a warm home with people who love her.
At 5-6 months old and only 25 lbs, she’ll likely be a medium sized girl (best guess 35-50 lbs). My photos app tells me she’s German Shepherd or Australian Kelpie… the latter may be true as she has started nipping at our heels when she wants attention! She is working on walking on a leash, as well as not excitedly biting – she doesn’t realize how strong she is for just a little girl! She doesn’t have an aggressive bone in her body, she just doesn’t yet know what to do with all the love and gratitude she feels inside! She is not afraid to tell you how she feels about something with a little bit of spunk too. She’s never had an accident in her crate and is getting so close to being fully potty trained. Playing with our dog and following us around are her two favorite things, closely followed by treats and pets.
She is smart, seriously, the first foster to outsmart our baby gate. She loves exploring and will happily forgo a nap or bedtime to chew on bones, sniff around the house, or follow you everywhere in case you might be doing something exciting! She’s not much into snuggling because she’s a busy girl with things to do, but she makes sure to check in with you and get some loves as often as she can. Multiple times during our family movie nights she’ll make the rounds, visiting each person for some loves before getting back to doing her thing. Her eyes have a unique golden inner circle with darker brown surrounding them, which tends to make her gaze look intense and expressive. She’s naturally observant and confident and is just an all-around great girl! She’ll make a wonderful addition to a loving home!
