Sparky is a sweet, thoughtful young tabby who takes her time with new experiences but warms up nicely once she feels comfortable. With her white chest and white toes, she has a gentle presence and an endearing, affectionate nature. Once she’s out, Sparky is playful, loving, and enjoys attention.

Sparky was rescued in late November from a feral colony in Hawthorne and was believed to have been abandoned due to her friendliness and ease of handling. In the shelter, she has been steady and observant during the transition, showing a calm, adaptable temperament.

Like many young cats adjusting to change, Sparky has had a few minor transition-related disagreements, which are typical and continue to improve with routine and familiarity.

Sparky would thrive in a home that appreciates a gentle cat who blossoms with patience and consistency.

Once an application is received an Adoption Counselor will call to discuss your preferences and set up a "Meet & Greet" appointment.

Meet the Pet

A cat or kitten can go home the same day as a "meet & greet".

Home Check

At our discretion, a home visit may be required. Adopters agree to keep cat(s) indoors only and to not declaw.

We offer "Meet & Greets" by appointment. To schedule an appointment to meet our cats/kittens please go to peterzippifund.org and submit the online adoption application form. A link is located on the right-hand side of our Home Page. Once received, an Adoption Counselor will contact you within 72 hours or less to book your appointment.

Adoption Fee: $125.00

Our adoption fee generally covers everything your new feline friend needs to start their journey with you:

*Spaying or Neutering: Ensuring the well-being of our cats and controlling the pet population.
*Microchipping: A permanent identification method to keep your furry friend safe.
*Vaccinations: Up-to-date vaccines tailored to the specific needs of each cat.
*Fecal Testing and Deworming: A comprehensive approach to intestinal health.
*Viral Testing (FeLV/FIV): Conducted on all adults and most kittens based on their origin.
*Comprehensive Blood Work: For many of our adult cats, ensuring their overall current health.

In addition to all standard treatments outlined above, many of our cats and kittens have received costly treatment for other maladies that result from abandonment or starting life on the streets.

Of course, if you would like to make a larger donation to help cover our care for the homeless cats, we would be delighted. All donations over the adoption fee are tax deductible.

In memory of Peter Zippi, a young man dedicated to the care of animals, The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund For Animals was founded in 1977 by Dr. Alice Villalobos. We have adopted out over 14,000 pets (mostly cats) since then. The fund is run by wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help those who can't help themselves. The fund sponsors spay/neuter vouchers to qualified persons, and shelter for and adoptions of lost and homeless animals.
