My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ipswich & Hudson
A bonded pair of orange-and-white besties looking for a calm forever home—together.

Ipswich (5-year-old spayed female) and Hudson (6-year-old neutered male) are the last two sweethearts from a small hoarding situation we took in, and they’re ready to start their next chapter with someone patient, gentle, and understanding.

These two are fearful at first, but with time and consistency they begin to show who they really are: soft, sweet, and quietly affectionate.

To help them decompress, they’ve been spending time in our staff break room, and it’s been such a joy watching their confidence grow. In the beginning, Ipswich preferred the safety of under the couch, but day by day she’s been coming out more and more. Now she often stays calm when someone walks in, instead of running to hide. It’s a huge win, and she’s trying so hard.

Hudson, on the other hand, has a playful side that shines once he feels safe. Staff love walking by the door and catching him in the middle of a solo play session, happily tossing a little mouse toy around like it’s his full-time job.

And when they’re not busy adjusting or playing, you’ll often find them doing what bonded pairs do best: snuggled up together on the couch, keeping each other brave.

Their ideal home:

Quiet, low-traffic household

Older humans only (no kids, please)

Would likely do well with other cats with proper introductions

Unsure about dogs

Ipswich and Hudson aren’t the type to run up and demand attention right away, but if you’re the kind of person who believes the best relationships are built on trust, patience, and tiny victories, these two will absolutely steal your heart.

If you’re ready to give a bonded pair the peaceful home they’ve been waiting for, Ipswich & Hudson are ready to meet you.

Additional adoption info

You must be 18 years or older to adopt an animal. A valid ID is required.

If you own your own home, please provide proof of home-ownership; a mortgage receipt, tax bill, water bill or deed will suffice.

If you rent, please bring your lease which states the type of pet you are interested in and that it is accepted or the name and phone of your landlord so we can verify the pet is allowed. Inquire with your landlord about any size or breed restrictions.

Please check with your home owner’s insurance company or landlord to find out if they have any restrictions on the breed(s) of dog they cover. Common breeds that may not be covered include: Pit Bulls, Doberman Pinschers, Rottweilers and German Shepherds.

For the health and safety of the pet you are interested in adopting and your existing pets, we ask that you provide proof of current vaccinations and spay/neuter status for pets in your home. (We may be able to call your veterinarian if you do not have a copy available.)

A new pet is a family decision and we ask that all members of your family meet the pet and agree on the suitability for your household.

If you already have a dog(s) in your home please bring the dog(s) with you to meet the dog you are considering to see if they are compatible.

Complete an adoption application and talk with a staff member for more information about the animal you are considering.
