My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Contact my foster at murphy.a@live.com

Roux is a sweet pup who shows affection and opens up with her person. She’s a happy girl and snuggly couch potato, and she gets excited by & enjoys the little things. Roux is a dream dog and will quickly adapt and thrive with a family of her own.

Roux would do well with her one person who’s home regularly, or a family with other pets. She really loves being around other dogs and finding her “pack.”

Size and personality:
•Small-medium size (a petite 38-40 pounds); Roux looks smaller in person and is easily handled
•Extremely gentle and very sweet- she loves to give gentle kisses, will lay right next to/snuggle her person, and is very docile
•6 years old but has the personality of a younger dog; she’s fully grown, appreciates the occasional playtime, but is also big on naps and lounging around the house
•Very quiet- has not barked once and is curious but not reactive to noises
•Gives happy tail wags and a little tap dance when excited
•Likes to follow her person around, is very curious about things, and may be your shadow
•Absolutely loves pets, attention, and face rubs
•Shows some interest in toys but doesn’t seem to have a lot of experience with them
•May have had puppies in the past, which explains her sweet demeanor
•Expresses occasional anxiety until she settles in
•During the snow in Charlotte, she either loved being outside and exploring/playing in the snow, laying by a window looking out at it, or snuggled on the couch

Training:
•Potty trained with no issues while in foster
•Sleeps well in a dog bed and won’t jump up on furniture without an invitation/approval
•Seems to know some commands like sit, stay, lay down, shake, and come here
•Is able to take direction & redirection easily and listens pretty well
•Walks well on a leash with excitement
•Not food aggressive; takes treats gently and seems food motivated
•Doesn’t chew or destroy anything in the house; can be trusted when left alone
•Has been bathed, lifted, and carried without issue
•Does fine in a car with a little anxiety; would do better with a secure dog car seat and more regular trips in the car
•Occasionally stands up on her back legs to greet you/stretch but usually doesn’t jump up

Her ideal environment:
•Someone who is home regularly throughout the day; she will get lonely by herself or being crated during the day
•Loves being outside and wo
