My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bandit!

Bandit is a Husky mix with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life. Originally from the Yukon, this adventurous boy is ready for a brand new chapter with an active family.

True to his Husky roots, Bandit is full of energy and enthusiasm. He loves to play fetch and is always up for a fun game or outdoor adventure. He already knows his basic commands and is eager to please, especially when given clear direction.

Bandit has spent most of his life as an off‑leash dog, so walking politely on a leash is something he's still learning. At times he can get a bit frustrated and can be a leash biter, but he is easy to redirect and responds well to a simple "no, sit" to refocus. He does have some leash reactivity with unfamiliar dogs, so interested applicants should be prepared to work on this part of his training. His previous guardian mentioned that off leash he enjoyed the company of other dog friends, so it is likely its the leash that is causing this reactivity. With consistency and continued training, he has all the potential to become a great walking companion. What he lacks for in walking training, he makes up for in commands. Bandit is a very smart dog and sits as soon as he is asked. He does it for the love of the game, since treats don't interest him as much. He can also give paw to shake, like a distinguished gentleman.

Due to his known leash frustration we are seeking a detached home with a fenced in yard. Bandit is looking for a home that can match his energy and help guide him as he continues to learn. If Bandit sounds like the friend for you, come and meet him in person or reach out to us at the West Vancouver centre. We welcome online applications, but we prioritize in-person meetings and applications. Adoption hours are 12-3, Tuesday-Sunday (closed on Mondays).
