Personality: Gambit is very special, easy to care for and would make a great loyal companion. Gambit is super sweet and has a great temperament. She is still a bit shy but curious, loves human touch and attention, and has no separation anxiety! She doesn't have any pray drive and doesn't respond to other dogs barking when on walks. Any human would be lucky to have her as part of their family!

Friendliness: Dogs: Yes Cats: No Kids: Yes

Education: She alerts when she needs to go out. Sleeps in crate with no accidents. She may pull with collar on walks but walks great when a harness is used.

Favorite Activities: Loves going on walks, playing with toys, enjoying human touch and attention and crunching on bully sticks.

Looking For: She needs someone patient, understanding and willing to go at her pace. She would be best as an only dog until she has more exposure and can build confidence and trust. Once she bonds with someone they will have a forever loyal friend!

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.
