My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Max- Your loyal little shadow.

Max is a full-blooded Miniature English Cocker Spaniel with a heart full of devotion and cuddles. He's looking for a forever home where he can be the only dog, soaking up all the love and attention he deserves.

After losing his best canine friend in 2024, Max became withdrawn around other dogs... But with people? he is pure affection. He wants nothing more than to be your official lap dog, your couch companion, and your faithful sidekick.

He's low-key, easygoing, crate trained, and house trained, making him a wonderful fit for a calm, loving home. Max adores lounging on the couch, sunbathing on the back porch, playing ball in the yard and riding in the car. He travels beautifully and would make an excellent road-trip or travel buddy (even small enough for plane trips!).

His signature snub tail earned him the nickname "Wiggle Butt", and once he warms up to you, he'll greet you with the happiest tail wags imaginable. He may be a little nervous at first but give him time- and you'll earn the sweetest hugs, complete with him wrapping his paws around your arm.

- Loves cheese, treats 7 Pupscicles
- Loyal, gentle, and affectionate
- Perfect lap dog and companion
- Beautiful freckles on his nose
- Will need grooming every 6-8 weeks (and loves a fresh #7 shave!)

If you're a looking for a devoted best friend, cuddle partner, and loyal little soul, Max is ready to give you his whole heart!

Additional adoption info

We require an in-person application for all dogs and cats. A home visit will be required for larger dogs, who require a fenced in yard. Our animals are only adopted out after they have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Our adoption fees are $90 for cats and $110+ for dogs. Puppies are $130. Cash, check, credit or debit card are all accepted. Sometimes the fee will be higher for a dog, if it is a purebred. We would like to keep our adoptions local; in the event the adoption does not work out, the animal must come back to us. Adopters must sign an agreement to this effect. We do consider out of state adopters, please phone us before coming. We are a private rescue. Please be patient if we take a little time to respond.

Those adopting a cat must bring a carrier to transport the cat home safely.
