Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Cypress! Cypress is a gorgeous 2 month old male chocolate Lab puppy bursting with brains, energy, and endless curiosity. This lively, playful boy loves to run, wrestle with other dogs, zoom around, and be right in the middle of whatever fun is happening—he’s always ready for adventure!
Super smart and well-adjusted for such a young pup, Cypress enjoys his toys, a good game of tug-of-war, appropriate chew time, and tearing around the yard. He’s already a great little traveler who handles car rides like a champ, and after a solid play session he happily settles down for some quiet time and rest.
Like every puppy, he’s still growing and learning. He gets excited and can be a little mouthy during play (think classic puppy nips when he’s revved up), but this improves quickly with consistent, positive training and a bit of maturity. Right now he’s more of an action hero than a lap dog, but Labs often become wonderfully affectionate as they grow—his cuddly side is just waiting to bloom!
He’s making excellent progress with housetraining and is already quite reliable. Cypress gets along beautifully with adults, seniors, and kids of all ages, and he truly enjoys the company of both big and small dogs. He can be a little sensitive to loud noises or thunder, so a calm, loving home where he feels secure helps him shine even brighter.
Ideal Home for Cypress:
An active, engaged family or individual who loves puppy energy and is excited to provide plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, positive training, and fun adventures. A household with another playful dog to wrestle with, or people who enjoy hikes, fetch sessions, and outdoor playtime would be perfect for him.
Cypress is a sweet, incredibly smart, high-energy puppy with so much love to give. He’s going to grow into an amazing, loyal companion for a family ready to match his adventurous spirit and enjoy the journey together!
If you would like to learn more about Cypress or one of our other rescue dogs please visit our website https://www.joshuafundrescue.org/adoptioninfo and fill out an application form. We adopt to most locations in the US and Canada, East of the Rocky Mountains. Once submitted and you have emailed the relevant supporting documents a member of our adoption team will contact you directly.
The Joshua Fund Dog Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are an all-volunteer organization and rely solely on donations to save dogs like this from high-kill shelters and put them in forever homes. Thank you

8. If you fail to provide these documents or leave out any pertinent information on your application, we will discard your application.
Are there any adoption requirements related to my current pets?
1. We require that all other pets in your home are up-to-date on vaccinations.
2. We require that all other pets in your home are spayed/neutered.
3. All dogs should be on regular monthly heart worm and appropriate flea/tick prevention medications.
What is the adoption fee?
The adoption fee for any dog or puppy is $550.
The adoption fee helps us to recover a portion of the expenses we routinely incur in rescue (boarding, vaccinations, worming, spay/neuter and transport) so that we can continue to save other dogs. Please note that the adoption fee is NON-REFUNDABLE.
When I submit an application, how long does it take to hear from The Joshua Fund?
As soon as we open your completed application, we’ll send you an e-mail acknowledgement. It will take from a few days to two weeks to hear back from us. Our volunteers have day jobs and families to take care of and they do this in their spare time.
Canadian Adopters will have all the paperwork needed to cross the Border the same day (there is no extra charge for the paperwork.) Your fee/fees must be USD.

We do not have a physical building like a shelter does. We are a Foster-based Rescue and our dogs and puppies remain with their Foster Family in their city/state of origin until they have a pre-approved, confirmed adopter. We mainly rescue from the Houston, Texas area.

More about this rescue
The Joshua Fund rescues dogs from high kill shelters across the US but primarily from the Houston, TX area. All of our dogs are tested and treated for any medical conditions they may have. They're up to date on shots, are spayed/neutered and are heartworm negative when they get their Health Certificate for interstate travel. We take special care to ensure that our dogs are healthy before they leave for their journey North. We rescue dogs who are unwanted and have no hope for a future without us. We're a small Rescue, taking only as many dogs at a time as we can place into excellent homes. We know that our dogs have a sad past - we strive to give them a wonderful future.
The Joshua Fund is a Registered Rescue with NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets. Registration No. RR096
