Dog Name: Kookaburra
Breed: Mixed
Sex: Male

Medical Needs:
Remainder of puppy shots, and rabies once old enough.
Must be spayed/neutered by the end April 2026. The appointment is included in the adoption fee at one of the clinics we use and the foster-to-adopt family will need to email GRR to request the appointment when puppy is 18-20 weeks at the clinic closest to them. (Options are Wilmington, Newark, Dover, Georgetown.) Keeping the appointment that’s assigned by the clinic will be a condition of adoption. Foster to adopt families must live within one hour of DE and be willing to travel here for the pending appointment.
Housebroken: Working on it, he currently goes to door and sniffs however he is a puppy and has occasional accidents so needs to be watched while loose.
Crate trained: Mostly. He goes right in for a treat. He will occasionally whine for a few minutes, then settle down. He does sleep through the night, 7 hours.
Good in the car: Yes, he currently is crated while in the car and settles down for the drive.
Good on a leash: He does better every day, if there is another dog with him he follows their lead, but we are working on his manners when he is alone.
Energy level: High, Kookaburra is an energetic puppy. If not watched and given something to entertain him he will find trouble.
Need a fenced in yard: Preferable as he loves to play ball.
Dog Friendly: Yes
If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive home? Not necessary. He follows my dogs around excitedly but is happy being played with by people.
Cat Friendly? He seems to be unconcerned by them however more testing needs to be done.
Kid Friendly: Unknown as he has yet to be exposed to any.
If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with?
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?
Kookaburra is a happy, energetic puppy that is extremely bright. He loves to play ball and squeaky toys which he chews but doesn’t destroy. He also enjoys a good snuggle and will sleep on your lap or enjoy quiet time beside you with a chew. He is currently learning the 5 basic commands (sit, stay, down, come and leave it) and grasping them quickly.
