Rescue Story
Cookie was rescued from a municipal shelter just before euthanasia.
Despite everything she has been through, she is a gentle, curious, and emotionally steady little dog who adapts beautifully to new environments.
With People
Cookie is a softly affectionate, respectful girl.
• Shy at first, but takes treats and warms up quickly
• Allows handling and can be comfortably lifted
• Shows her belly when she feels safe
• Has not lived with children under 13 yet
• Loves to follow her person, but stops when asked
• Greets you with full-body wiggles when you return
She is curious and observant rather than fearful, and she enjoys being near her people without being demanding.
With Other Dogs
Cookie has wonderful, polite dog manners.
• Friendly with both larger and smaller dogs
• Initially cautious, then invites play within 1–2 days
• Respects boundaries if another dog asks for space
• Often chooses to lie down calmly near people or dog friends
Cats & Environment
• On walks, she notices cats but stays focused on her handler
• Not sensitive to outside noises
• Not afraid of vacuum cleaners, furniture being moved, or household activity

Cookie is exceptionally well-mannered indoors.
• 100% outdoor potty trained — no accidents

Carefully review the profile of the dog(s) you are interested in adopting to determine if it’s the right fit and submit an application.
Interview
Our team will review the application to determine suitability. If selected, one of our volunteers will contact you for the next step.
Home Check
Following a satisfactory interview and home check, a volunteer will complete all necessary reference checks
Sign Adoption Contract
If approved, the adopter must sign the adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee accordingly.
Take the Pet Home
Once all documentation is complete and the initial deposit is confirmed, one of our volunteers will arrange the travel plan for the dog.
