Meet Modern, a four-month-old stunning tuxedo kitten with piercing yellow eyes that will stop you in your tracks—and a surprisingly soft, snuggly heart once you get to know him. Modern came to us from New Haven as a stray with his mom, Meow Haven, and his siblings—Sally, Frank Pepe, and Apizza (yes, named after the most iconic local pizzerias). After a tough start to life, he’s still learning to trust humans.
While Modern can be shy at first, he is truly a total love. He may need a little encouragement to be picked up, but once he’s in your arms, he’ll happily stay there for hours, purring nonstop like a tiny motor. He’s a classic gentle soul—nervous on the outside, absolute mush on the inside. His sweetness shines through with calm, patient handling, and it’s impossible not to fall for him.
Modern has recently started to play, and watching his confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding. He’s curious, affectionate, and clearly takes comfort in the company of his littermates. He may hiss if he feels unsure, but he has shown no aggression—just a kitten still figuring out the world.
He would do best in a home with another friendly, confident cat to help boost his confidence. Modern must be adopted with one of his siblings or into a home with an existing feline friend.
