My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya! Meow meow! Sit down with me so we can be friends! My name is Star and I'm quite a guy. I love meeting new people and usually greet you like an old friend. My sister Boo Boo and I are a fantastic duo looking for a home where we can really "live it up." All toys are good toys in my book and a lap and a cuddle are all that I need to be happy. Well, that and some good food and my bestie, Boo Boo. We'd be a great addition to any fun-loving family who won't mind our kitty antics! All good mischief, I swear. You can visit us at Woods in Atascadero and take us home today!

More about this shelter

Founded in 1955, Woods Humane Society is a nonprofit organization which receives no tax funds, but is supported by donations, grants, bequests, fundraising events and fees for services. Woods is independent of San Luis Obispo County Animal Services, but works in close cooperation with them and other animal groups in the county for the welfare of all animals.

Woods now cares for over 3,000 cats and dogs each year at our facilities in San Luis Obispo and Atascadero until they can be united with loving forever families. We bring in animals from other shelters where they are less likely to be adopted and from individuals who are no longer able to care for their pets. Woods is committed to finding loving homes for all healthy and treatable pets, no matter how long it takes. With our behavior and veterinary resources, we are able to go the extra mile for animals in need.
