My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Martha 💕

Martha is a beautiful Persian–Siamese mix with a gentle soul and a soft heart. She’s incredibly sweet, but a little shy at first—new situations can be overwhelming for her. With patience, kindness, and a calm home, Martha blossoms into a loving companion who truly appreciates her people.

She came to us from very difficult circumstances and was found severely matted, but despite everything she’s been through, she remains trusting and tender. Martha is now feeling so much better and is ready for a fresh start with someone who understands that love sometimes takes a little time.

Martha is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, and on monthly preventions. She’s looking for a quiet, compassionate home where she can feel safe, cherished, and finally spoiled the way she deserves. 🐾✨

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
