My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Andre is one of those kittens who reminds you why you never give up. He has megaesophagus, and at one point his condition was so severe that we truly were not sure he would make it. But Andre had other plans. With dedication, routine, and a lot of love, he is now doing amazing and continues to thrive.

Andre does require a consistent feeding schedule. He eats 3 to 4 small meals a day using a specialized feeder that keeps him upright while eating to prevent vomiting or aspiration. He has been doing wonderfully on Royal Canin Gastro prescription food and should also do well on any pâté-style wet food blended with water. No dry food for this guy. His care sounds intimidating at first, but once you get into his routine, it becomes second nature.

Now for who Andre really is. He is an incredibly sweet, affectionate kitten who lives for cuddles. He will sleep with you every night, usually under the covers, and wants to be as close to his person as possible. He does fantastic with other cats, even the ones who usually hate other cats. Somehow, they cannot resist his cuddles.

Andre is also extremely smart and very aware of his schedule. He knows exactly when it is food time and has even trained himself to wake his foster mom. He hears her first alarm in the morning, hops onto her chest, and gently licks her face until she wakes up. Effective and adorable.

He is agile, playful, and loves being involved in whatever his person is doing. While his medical needs mean he requires a bit more structure than the average kitten, the payoff is huge. Andre is a loving, devoted companion who gives back tenfold what he asks for.

If you are looking for a special kitten with a big heart, incredible resilience, and endless affection, Andre might just be your once in a lifetime cat
