My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Iggy – Your New Best Friend in a Wiggly, Happy Package!

Iggy is a 10-month-old, 45 pound Lab mix who may be blind, but he certainly doesn’t let that slow him down. This sweet boy absolutely adores people and other dogs and loves a great balance of playtime and snuggle time. He bonds quickly with his humans and is happiest when he knows he’s near his people.

Despite his lack of vision, Iggy learns the layout of a home impressively fast and navigates his space with growing confidence. He does a wonderful job following the other dogs outside and, when kept on a consistent schedule, remains accident-free. At night, Iggy currently sleeps in a crate, but he’d be just as happy snoozing in a cozy dog bed or curled up in bed with his humans.

Iggy gets extra excited when he realizes his people are nearby and may jump in his enthusiasm. Because of this, he would likely do best in a home with older children who can handle his happy energy and help reinforce good manners.

Since Iggy can become disoriented without sight, a securely fenced yard is important to keep him safe and prevent wandering. He can also be quite vocal if he can’t find his people, so a home without shared walls (such as apartments or townhomes) would be ideal.

Iggy is a joyful, loving, and affectionate pup who will thrive with a patient family willing to give him guidance, structure, and lots of love. In return, he promises endless devotion, kisses, and tail wags.

His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
