My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gemmy is a domestic shorthair calico tabby female who is approximately 1.5 years old. Gemmy is currently in foster care with her brother, Baby. These two bonded cats have been with each other since birth. Gemmy is especially bonded to her brother and feels more confident when he's around. They meet each other's energy level and are constantly found together in all things. They follow each other around, groom one another, play together, and when all the fun is done, cozy up and sleep together. Due to their bond, they must be adopted as a pair.

Meet Gemmy! Gemmy is a young cat full of quiet charm and gentle sweetness. She may be a little shy at first, especially in new situations, but give her a moment and a soft touch and she will reward you with instant purrs, lots of affection, and the cutest little meow. Once she feels comfortable, Gemmy loves to curl up for cuddles and be close to her people.

She enjoys playtime and loves toys, showing her fun and spirited side, but she is just as happy settling in for a cozy nap afterward. Gemmy has a gentle, friendly nature and does best with a little patience and encouragement as she gains confidence. She feels especially secure when her brother is nearby, and having him around helps her truly shine.
Adopting Gemmy means welcoming a loving, affectionate companion who will bring warmth and joy into your home.

Gemmy needs to go to a home with her brother Baby. They would likely do well in a home with another cat or dog, with a proper slow introduction.

Gemmy is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies. She is FIV and FeLV negative and on parasite preventions. The adoption fee for the pair is $550. To apply, please submit an adoption application.

Additional adoption info

Most of our cats live in foster homes. Some are available to meet at satellite locations such as Pet Valu and Ren's Depot. A few foster homes are available to meet and greets at their home, or we also do meet and greets at request at our shelter prior to adoption. Most of these results in same day adoptions, and only take place after an adoption interview.
