My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mike Wheeler! This pudgy little beagle mix is as sweet as they come and overflowing with good-boy energy. With his soulful eyes, wagging tail, and lovable round shape, Mike is the kind of pup who instantly makes you smile the second you meet him.

He’s friendly, gentle, and so eager to soak up affection from everyone around him. While Mike could stand to lose a couple of pounds (don’t worry—he’s very committed to a future of walkies and healthier snack choices), what he already has in abundance is love to give.

If you’re looking for a kind-hearted companion who’s ready to be your walking buddy, cuddle partner, and biggest fan, Mike Wheeler is ready to roll—right into your heart.

More about this shelter

CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
