Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"I like big mutts, and I cannot lie." If this song is your vibe, you have to come meet Hemi! Hemi is a 6-month-old Mastiff/shepherd/lab mix. He is already 65 pounds and has a lot of growing left to do! Hemi is a gentle giant who loves to cuddle, go for walks, car rides, play fetch, and can be off leash. He is not used to a leash and will need to learn leash manners, but he is a very smart and treat motivated guy, so learning should be fun and easy! Hemi has lived with a small dog and does well with other dogs. His owner sadly had to give him up as he had to care for his aging mother. Hemi is a great dog; he has already stolen all of our hearts, and will be a wonderful puppy for anyone looking for a dog who could reach 100+ pounds.
Adoption fee-$350

More about this shelter
We're a small shelter in Vermont covering 11 towns in Windsor County. We have a small but very dedicated staff, and an active volunteer program. We have been rescuing cats and dogs since our inception in 1941, when a wonderful woman turned her barn into a shelter. Since then we've grown quite a bit and have recently redone our entire kennel area - we have sun tubes for natural light, radiant heat in the floors, a music program and an aromatherapy program. All through the generous donations of the public. Our cats live comfortably in community cat rooms where they are free to roam and climb and play. We have acres of field for dog walking. We have a large puppy room, and a larger still puppy play area outside. We also have a large indoor room for people to meet dogs during inclement weather.
