Bernard will be available for adoption after his neuter on 1/28/2026
We don’t believe Bernard had ever been on a leash before, so we’re still working on all our basic manners. He is not yet house broken, but is consistent about using a pee pad and his foster mom is working with him on this ongoing training. He will need consistent, ongoing training in his forever home, but he’s food motivated and eager to please so we believe training will be relatively easy and he gains his confidence. Bernard loves his crate and happily sleeps overnight and is quiet during the day when needed, it’s definitely his safe space.
Animal Information: Bernard is an estimated 1-year-old male Chihuahua mix weighing approximately 12 lbs. Bernard was brought in as a stray in Tulare, and was just terrified being in a shelter environment. Despite his fear, he was soft and sweet with shelter staff. He was at risk for euthanasia due to space, but we couldn't let that happen! We can't wait to see him blossom in foster care.
