A Little Bit About Me

Monkey is a big boy looking for a forever home for pets and play. A long-time indoor-outdoor cat, he would benefit from an experienced cat guardian with a catio or cat safe backyard that gives him a good way to fulfill that need. Monkey would likely do best as an only cat, he bullied the cat he lived with previously. He warms up to new people in just a short time, and greets you with gentle head rubs. When he's ready, he enjoys pets on his head and face too, but what he really has loved at MH is play! Get out a wand toy and get ready for a big bunch of fun! Come see this beautiful, special boy and see if he can be your forever friend.

More about this rescue

We are a group of people dedicated to rescuing dogs from crisis situations, some of which include euthanasia by animal shelters, neglect and other forms of abuse, or "free to a good home" ads, which result in dogs being bounced from one home to another, or being acquired by animal brokers ("bunchers") and sold to research laboratories where they are used for testing then discarded ("cruelty industries").

NBCR&P works primarily with 5 herding breeds, and herding breed mixes. On occasion, NBCR&P also rescues and places other breeds. We foster our dogs in a home environment, rather than a kennel, if at all possible. We take pride in our promise that at any time and for any reason in the dog's life, if the need arises, he or she has a safe place with us ("return to rescue" policy).
