My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Duke
A 1-year-old Australian Shepherd/Collie mix with the fluffiest tan, black, and white coat you’ve ever seen — and a heart that’s been waiting on someone to choose him.
Duke’s Details
Age: 1 year
Size: medium (about 32 lbs)
Neutered
Heartworm negative
The Heart Part
Duke is a little shy at first, and you can tell he’s had to be careful with his trust… but he is so incredibly sweet. He may hesitate for a moment, but once you start loving on him, he just melts into you like he’s been waiting on that comfort his whole life.
Calm, Gentle Energy
For being only a year old, Duke is surprisingly calm. He’s not wild or chaotic — he’s more of a “quiet companion” who just wants to be near you and feel safe.
Smart + Trainable
Duke already knows sit, shake, and he even sits “pretty” up on his hind legs . He’s learning more every day because he’s a smart boy who truly wants to do things right.
Manners + Easy Companion
Great on a leash — walks are smooth and easy with him.
He’s not totally sure about a crate yet, but once he’s in, he settles quickly and does just fine.
Sweet Soul
We have 5-week-old puppies here, and when they make noise Duke is the first one to check on them — trying to comfort them like a little babysitter. It’s the gentlest thing to watch.
‍‍‍ Family & Dog Friendly
Duke does wonderful with other dogs and is great with kids too.  He is a very intimidated with cats.
What he wants most
A soft place to land. A person who will look at him and say, “You’re safe now.”
If you’ve been waiting for a loyal, gentle best friend — Duke is ready. If you would like to add Duke to your family please fill out an adoption application.  Her $475 adoption fee covers medical care up to adoption to include vaccines, neuter, microchip, foster care and transportation from Louisiana to NY.

More about this rescue

In 2018 a group of animal lovers got together to form a special animal rescue.

Every year millions of pets are surrendered to animal shelters and ultimately euthanized. In NY state alone thousands of dogs and cats are neglected, abandoned , homeless , and left in shelters. Seven was one of many pets abandoned by the only family he had ever known.

Seventh Heaven Rescue was created to help any animal in need. Our mission is to try to keep dogs out of shelters as well as rescue dogs that have found themselves in shelters. Our goal is to provide them the love , compassion, kindness , dignity and respect as well as medical care they need and deserve.

Our mission is to honor Seven’s memory in the hope that we can help other dogs and any animal in need just like him find loving families. We are strictly a non for profit organization. All donations go directly to those animals in our care.
