Kazoo
“Hi. My name is Kazoo. Yes, that Kazoo. Like the silly noise tube humans blow into. Do I make that sound? No. Would I if it got me snacks? Possibly. Humans laugh when they say my name and I let them, because I am kind, generous, and very committed to being adored.
I am about 4.5 years old, roughly 40 pounds, and in my absolute prime dog era. I am a terrier mix, which means I am smart, loyal, curious about everything, and extremely good at becoming your best friend immediately. One minute we are strangers, the next minute I am following you around like, “Oh good, you’re going to the kitchen? I should also be there.”
I love humans. All of them. New humans, visiting humans, humans who say “I’m not a dog person” (incorrect, but I forgive them). Visiting dogs? Amazing. We are now best friends forever. Let’s play like today is the greatest day in the history of days. Cats? I see you. I respect you. I give you space because I am polite and have excellent manners for a dog with a funny name.
I enjoy sitting right next to you watching Law and Order reruns, very serious show, much justice, and I also take my outdoor responsibilities very seriously. I need a securely fenced-in yard. This part is very important. I like to patrol, sniff, monitor squirrels, investigate leaves, and make sure nothing suspicious is happening. A fence lets me do my job safely and keeps me happy, relaxed, and ready to come inside for cuddles and naps.
When my humans leave the house, I do not panic or redecorate. I curl up, snooze, and wait patiently because I know my people always come back. I am housebroken, I walk on a leash like I personally invented walking, and I stay on my own side of the bed because I respect personal space (most of the time).
I would love a canine housemate because that is what I have always known, but I would also be perfectly happy with lots of human attention. Honestly, it is hard to imagine a home where I would not be a great fit, as long as there is love, kindness, and a fenced yard for a girl who likes to safely supervise the outdoors.
If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, slightly goofy dog with a silly name and a very serious heart, I am ready. I am Kazoo, and I would like to be your best friend.
I am currently available for adoption. Apply today at pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt.
