Hi, I’m Toast Ghost 👻🍞 I’m a beautiful long-haired brown tabby with a very gentle heart. I like to move quietly through the house, appearing when you need me most—usually for cuddles, comfort, or a peaceful nap nearby. I’m extremely sweet, love affection, and I’m very good at making people feel calm and happy just by being close.
I enjoy sunbeams, slow blinks, and cozy spots where I can stretch out my fluffy fur. I may be soft-spoken, but my love is big, warm, and always present. I’m Toast Ghost, and I’m here to make your home a little softer. 🤎🐾An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice. Cats and kittens are a donation of choice.

More about this shelter
At DeKalb Humane Society, we are passionate about finding forever homes for the pets in our care. Whether they are cats, dogs, or other furry friends, our mission is to provide them with a loving and nurturing environment.
We also believe in the importance of education about responsible pet ownership. We strive to educate our community about pet welfare, the benefits of spaying/neutering, and the prevention of animal abuse and neglect.
By adopting a pet from us, you are not only gaining a lifetime companion, but you are also contributing to our cause and helping us raise awareness. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these innocent animals.
The DeKalb Humane Society filed for our Certificate of Incorporation on December 23, 1975 and we were granted 501(c)3 status in March of 1976. We are committed to being a no-kill shelter and serving the DeKalb County area.
