Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Cosmic Brownie ✨🐾
Cosmic Brownie is a petite little girl with a big heart and a gentle, loving soul. Despite everything she’s been through, she is incredibly sweet, curious, and affectionate—and she absolutely soaks up attention whenever it’s offered. She’s the kind of cat who leans into love, as if she’s making up for lost time.
One of 33 animals rescued from one of the most severe neglect cases our team has seen, Cosmic Brownie survived heartbreaking conditions before finally finding safety. While she is now warm, cared for, and surrounded by compassion, she is still healing from the past. She may have a few lingering scabs and traces of dirt—visible reminders of where she came from—but they don’t define her. What truly defines Cosmic Brownie is her trusting nature, her sweetness, and her desire to be close to people.
Every day, her personality shines a little brighter. Watching her explore, seek out affection, and enjoy gentle pets has been incredibly rewarding for our staff. Cosmic Brownie is ready for a forever home filled with kindness, comfort, and love—the things she’s always deserved. If you’re looking for a tender, affectionate companion who will cherish every soft bed and gentle touch, Cosmic Brownie may be your perfect match.

More about this shelter
The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to be a no-kill animal welfare agency. We are committed to finding great homes for great pets! As a 501(c)(3) nonproft, we receive no government funding and rely solely on donations from individuals, companies and grants to fund our programs and services. We are not affiliated with any other animal agency on a local, state or national level. Since 1902, our organization has been devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. Although we proudly find more than 2,000 animals forever homes every year, we are far more than an adoption center. We currently have a wide array of programs to support animals in our community. Through our high-volume spay and neuter clinic, we are able to help pet owners as well as battle cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return. Our humane society agents also work tirelessly to protect pets from cruel and neglectful circumstances through our Cruelty & Neglect Investigations Department. Through our Veterinary Hospital, we can provide top-quality access to veterinary care at a low cost to pet owners. In addition to our many programs, our organization is unique because we are the only agency in the community able to handle all types of animals. This includes cats and dogs but also rabbits, birds, farm animals, pocket pets and exotics. Our organization is committed to providing our community, our state and our region with support and care.
