Hi! I’m Monkey,
A young pup full of love and joy. I have mesmerizing eyes and you will be transformed once you gaze into them! I recently underwent some leg surgery but I am now fully recovered and ready to start my new life.
I adore being around people and am always up for a cuddle or just some pets. My curiosity makes every day an adventure, and I’m gentle and mellow, so I fit right into any calm moment. I am pretty good on the leash and I am learning sit as well. I also am a champ at taking treats. OH and I love to play in the snow.
Being by your side would make my tail wag endlessly! If you want a loyal friend who’s always happy and ready to share love, I’m the one for you. I would love a family to love me. I seem to be just fine around other dogs so if you have a resident dog bring them on in to meet me, maybe we will have a love connection. Hiking? You bet; Camping? Of course. Daily walks? Most definitely. Housetrained? Pretty sure I have that under control, may need some reminders though.

All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
