My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Riley is a 2-year-old Lab mix who weighs about 45 pounds. She came to Wish Bone and soon after gave birth. She was a devoted mama and did an amazing job raising her seven puppies from our Inside Out litter. All of her babies have found their forever homes, and now it’s finally Riley’s turn.

Riley is house trained and does not use a crate. She sleeps either in bed with her people or on a dog bed on the floor. Her exercise needs are moderate. She enjoys relaxing in the house, spending time in the yard, playing with toys, and playing with other dogs.

Riley is friendly with dogs, cats, and kids. She met children of many ages during puppy adoption days and did great with everyone she encountered. She truly enjoys the company of another dog and would love a home with a canine companion, though it is not required.

She enjoys playing fetch, chewing on appropriate toys, going for car rides, sitting close to her people, and following her humans from room to room. Riley may gently reach up on people when greeting them, but it is very soft and affectionate.

Riley is friendly, outgoing, adaptable, happy, playful, loyal, and loves being near her person. She is submissive in nature and would do well in most households. A fenced yard would be ideal but not required. She is curious and may sneak out an open door or gate if given the chance.

Her foster mom describes Riley as the epitome of a sweetheart and one of the nicest fosters she has ever had. Riley would be a wonderful first dog, a great playmate for another dog, and a loving addition to just about any home. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
