Meet Cadmium! A 56lb, 8-year-old, Lab Retriever mix who came to the shelter with another dog and their son through no fault of her own. When she first arrived, she was understandably timid, but it didn’t take long for her true personality to shine through. Once she settled in, Cadmium blossomed into a friendly, affectionate companion who enjoys the company of people and happily soaks up attention. She’s not especially interested in toys, but she is a fan of the simple pleasures in life—being outside, enjoying fresh air, and spending time with her humans. Cadmium doesn’t seem to mind other dogs and has a calm, easygoing presence that makes her a lovely match for a relaxed home. Our adoption fee is $150.00 for dogs, $75 for kittens under 6 months of age and $50 for all cats 6 months and older. This will include a rabies vaccination (if age appropriate), spay or neuter, a microchip with registration, and all other age appropriate vaccinations.

We are the all admittance shelter in Johnson County, we are not a 501c3, but a county run facility. We try our best to place each and every animal. We also house all animals picked up by Animal Control therefore; we intake a high volume of animals each year.
