My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Lucky arrived:
Lucky was brought in by his previous owner on January 23, 2026.

Why Lucky is the one for you:
Lucky is a charming guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart! This handsome boy is looking for a special home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood. While Lucky has so much love to give, he does best in a calm, predictable environment where he can truly be himself. Lucky is a sensitive soul who sometimes gets a little overwhelmed during highly arousing or exciting moments. He's shown us that he needs a patient family who understands his boundaries and can help him navigate the world with confidence. He's not a fan of loud social venues or chaotic environments-he much prefers cozy nights at home with his favorite people. When it comes to vet visits and medical handling, Lucky will benefit from positive reinforcement training and a Fear Free veterinary practice. High-value treats and gentle, patient handling will help him feel more comfortable during those necessary appointments. Children 12+ years old only in the home. Lucky is searching for a calm household that can provide structure, patience, and lots of love. If you're ready to be Lucky's lucky charm and give him the peaceful, understanding home he deserves, he's waiting to meet you!

At SDHS:
Lucky has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Lucky is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
