My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a new personal assistant? Meet Buckwheat, a curious Chihuahua mix born in November who is ready to oversee your daily routine! ‍

This inquisitive boy takes his role as "Head Supervisor" very seriously—expect him to follow you from room to room, making sure everything is up to code. Whether you’re working from home or tackling chores, he’ll be right there to lend a paw. Once the shift is over, he officially clocks out and transforms into a world-class snuggler and playmate!

While he’s a fast learner, this young pup is still "in training" when it comes to his potty, kennel, and leash manners. With a little guidance from a patient family, he’ll be an expert in no time! Buckwheat is a total socialite who loves humans and hangs great with dogs of all sizes, though his opinion on cats remains a mystery for now. ‍ He’s already microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, and has his neuter appointment scheduled. If you have an opening for a loyal, big-eared shadow, Buckwheat is ready to join the team!

Please complete an adoption application at www.pathwaysforpaws.com. If he fits your family and lifestyle, you will be contacted within 48 hours.

Additional adoption info

In some circumstances, meeting the dog and a home check are done at the same time if the dog is ready to be adopted. We do have conversation with potential adopters prior to them meeting the dog. If they are interested in adopting a puppy who is not ready for adoption (not altered, not UTD, etc) they are able to put a hold on the pup until ready for adoption.

More about this rescue

Pathways for Paws was founded in October 2019. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, no-kill, animal welfare organization.

Our mission is to make spay/neuter & vaccinations affordable to those in our communities. By achieving this, we will help prevent the neglect & abuse of dogs. All dogs in our care are spay/neutered, given the age appropriate vaccinations and microchipped before going to their FURever families.

We work with rescues & fellow animal advocates to continue growing a network of volunteers and supporters.
